This week, 23 essentials increased in price in ISLAMABAD: This week, the country saw an increase in the prices of 23 essential goods, but despite a 0.09 percent decrease in the rate of inflation, the annual rate of inflation remained at 29.30 percent.



The total, which includes bread, winter firewood, LPG, eggs, raw milk, curd, garlic, dal chana, dal mash, dal mung, and flour, has increased in the past few weeks in the Bureau of Statistics' weekly report. Seven commodities, including potato, tomato, sugar, vegetable table ghee, and cooking oil, have decreased in price while the prices of 21 essential commodities have remained stable. As a result, the prices of 23 essential commodities have increased.


According to the report, eggs accounted for 2.86 percent, Basmati broken rice for 2.81 percent, flour for 2.81 percent, bread for 2.76 percent, firewood for 2.49 percent, LPG for 1.61 percent, and energy saver for 1.27 percent each week. Tomatoes rose by 6.02 percent, potatoes by 8.85 percent, sugar by 1.22 percent, vegetable table ghee by 0.45 percent, cooking oil by 0.04%, and electricity by 2.44 percent.


The Sensitive Price Index (SPI) inflation rate decreased by 0.09 percent last week, according to data released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics, but on an annual basis for the week ending December 29, 2022. However, inflation is at 29.30 percent.


According to the data, the group with a monthly income of 17 thousand 732 rupees or less and the group with a monthly income of 22 thousand 888 rupees or less experienced an annual inflation rate of 27.80 percent last week in terms of the decimal price of sensitive prices. 28.24 percent in relation to the rate of inflation; 30.17 percent in relation to the rate of inflation for the group whose monthly income is between 22 thousand 889 and 29 thousand 517 rupees; 31.35 percent in relation to the rate of inflation for the group whose monthly income is between 29 thousand 518 and 44 thousand 175 rupees. While the group with a monthly income of more than 44 thousand 176 rupees experienced an inflation rate of 29.61 percent.
